Teatro de la Tierra es una compañía que hace teatro bilingüe y “de la tierra”: del planeta, de donde venimos, del territorio, del suelo, y del polvo.
Hacemos teatro que nace de nuestras relaciones con la tierra y con nuestras comunidades Latinas. En el proceso desarrollamos técnicas de producción sostenibles, equitativas, y que resultan en experiencias transformativas para nuestras audiencias y nuestros artistas.
En Austin, el proyecto contó con fondos del Departamento de Desarrollo Económico de la Ciudad de Austin a través de Elevate Grant, una asociación con el Jardín Botánico Zilker, y fue proyecto patrocinado fiscalmente por el Austin Creative Alliance.
Fundada por Khristián Méndez Aguirre, un director y productor de teatro Guatemalteco.

Teatro de la Tierra makes theater that is bilingual and “de la tierra”, in all of its translations from Spanish: of the planet, of the dirt, and of the soil, of the land, of the homeland.
We make theater that springs from our relationship with the tierra and with our Latiné communities. In the process we develop techniques for production that are sustainable, equitable, and which result in transformative experiences for our audiences and artists.
In Austin, the project has been supported by funding from the City of Austin Economic Development Department through the Elevate Grant, a partnership with the Zilker Botanical Garden, and was fiscally sponsored by the Austin Creative Alliance.
It was founded by Khristián Méndez Aguirre, a theater director and producer from Guatemala.
